The plants establish upwards, producing tall stems. Each stem contains rows and rows of gorgeous, fluffy purple flowers. The flowers of Gayfeather are nectar rich, attracting an array of beneficial insects to the garden, such as butterflies, bumblebees, hummingbirds and ladybugs as well. Grown as a perennial flowering plant, Gayfeather will establish a deep root system the first growing season. The plants will wilt on the surface with the first killing frost, only to return the following season. Gayfeather can be used in a number of settings, including perennial flower beds, along driveways, walkways & borders, or even in a naturalized setting.
