The scale records weight in 1/10th increments and has memory, meaning that once you first set the units to pounds, the memory keeps it there every time you turn on the device. We recommend using a Phillips screwdriver to access the battery chamber and inserting a foam pad to secure the batteries in the battery compartment. Use the dismountable hook to hang the unit or manually hold by gripping the sides of the unit with your hands.
