Outsidepride Moss Rose Plant Seed Mix - 5000 Seeds
Portulaca grandiflora is commonly known as Moss Rose. It has a great display of color for such a little ground cover plant! Moss Rose makes a great edging plant for the front of a sunny border or grow it in containers and baskets. This mix produces 1 inch, rose-like blooms of intense colors that continue all summer long. The foliage is thick and succulent. The blooms open during the day and close at night and on cloudy days. Moss Rose thrives even in poor, sandy soil and can spread 14 inches. Start Moss Rose seed indoors 6 - 8 weeks before the expected end of frost season. Press the seed into the soil but do not cover it. Keep seed moist until germination. With a temperature of 70 - 80F, germination normally occurs within 14 days. Space the plants 12 - 15 inches apart. Grow in full sun and in well-drained soil. Moss Rose can withstand heat and drought, but they perform best with an occasional deep watering. Trimming the plants during the summer will tidy their appearance and encourage blooming into fall.- Moss rose seed mix is an annual flowering plant growing in USDA Zones 4 - 9. It will establish quickly, bloom profusely through the summer months, later dying with the first killing frost. However, if seeds manage to fall to the bare ground beneath, the flowers can regrow the following season.
