Brussel Sprout Seeds - Long Island - Healthy Garden Vegetable Non GMO
Brussels sprouts grow in the same manner as the cole crop family, which includes cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, collards, kale, and kohlrabi. Nutritious good source of Sulforaphane
Should be planted in early spring mid- to late summer for a crop that matures in the fall. The small heads mature best in cool and even in light frosty weather. Spring planting is also fine in cooler climates.
Planting Brussel Sprouts: A minimum of 6 hours or more of sunlight daily. Soil fertile - well-drained - moist soils - plenty of organic matter - pH on the high side of about 6 8, for optimum growth.
Set plants about 18 to 30 inches apart in a row or bed. As soon as the lower sprouts begin to mature, pinch out the growing shoot at the top of each plant. This will stop the top from growing and encourage the sprouts to ripen along the stalk.
